Have you ever been so focused on something that you lose track of time? That’s called flow, and it’s when learning feels effortless and natural. Interruptions break this focus, which is why I never stop you mid-sentence and don’t let others correct you while you’re speaking.

Teacher Immediacy Counteracting Affective Filter

Learning a language is harder when you feel nervous or judged. That’s called the Affective Filter (Krashen, 1982), and it blocks learning. But when your teacher is relaxed, friendly, and engaging (Teacher Immediacy, Mehrabian, 1969), that filter goes down. That’s why I keep the atmosphere light.
